Grant receives Masters in Education Degree

Los Angeles, CA (May 14, 2015) Reginald “Reggie” Grant has received his Masters in Science in Education in Curriculum and Instruction program with an emphasis in TESOL from the University of the Southwest. Mr. Grant maintained a 3.833 G.P.A. in the program. He was honored by the University for Academic Excellence as a Masters student in the School of Education. He was a member of Sigma Tau Delta, International English Honor Society. He has been a Certificated English Teacher in California since 2002. In 2011 he served on the CASHEE – California State High School Exit Exam development/review panel for English.

Mr. Grant is the author of “A Teacher’s View. Education in America”, considered one of the premier books covering ESL, SEL and Bilingual Education in America. He is considered one of the leaders in curriculum and instruction for ESL, and SEL learners and often trains other educators. SEL’s are groups whose primary vernacular language is often other than standard American English (African-Americans, Latinos/Hispanic Americans, Hawaiian Americans and Native Americans)

He is a consultant and teaches for Kings Education in the Pathways Division, at Marymount California University as an Academic Instructor. He teaches classes to international students in Academic English as a Foreign Language. Kings Education is an international education group with operations in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. Kings Pathways is the university pathways division, which has expertise in university preparation and pathway programs. Kings Pathways division offers “on-campus” university pathway programs in the USA, as well as preparation programs delivered at its own colleges in both the UK and USA

Mr. Grant is a Board Member of the General Commission on United Methodist Men. The GCUMM is known as the most organized church men’s group in the nation and possibly the world. GCUMM is an arm of the United Methodist Church which has over 11,000 million plus members and 40,000 churches worldwide with 34,000 churches in the US. Mr. Grant is serving a four year term. He is currently the President of the West Division of Cal Pac and member of Holman United Methodist Church in Los Angeles, CA.

He is a member of the Board of Directors and past Chairman of the Board for the NAAAA presenters of the premier award in the nation for African American male high school scholar athletes, the “Watkins Award” for the past 23 years.
